Welcome to “Sandy Haven”. A reversed-living Oceanfront single-family house located in Ship Bottom on Long Beach Island NJ with 5 to 6 Bedrooms and 3 and a half Baths, Sleeps 16.

The house is lovingly nicknamed “Sandy Haven”, due to its location on an interior oceanfront lot just steps from the beach which provides privacy and isolation from street noises.

Endless unobstructed views of the Atlantic Ocean and Barnegat Bay from numerous decks including a rooftop deck.

The top floor contains a Master Bedroom suite and a Great room (living room, dining room, kitchen) with vaulted ceilings and also includes one and a half baths. The Master features a king bed and sitting area with a queen sleeper couch and a slider opening onto a large deck with beautiful views of the ocean. The Great room was professionally decorated and newly furnished with a hint of South Beach and features views of the Ocean and Bay from large glass windows and an East facing wall for stunning views of the Ocean. There is also a queen sleeper and a full-size sleeper in the Great room.

The middle floor includes four additional bedrooms plus two full baths. The three ocean-facing bedrooms are furnished with queen beds and have glass sliders opening to a large ocean-facing deck. The Bay-facing fifth bedroom was tastefully decorated and furnished for children with a double bunk bed and twin bed to accommodate children.

The Garage was converted to a 1200 square-foot finished Great room with a flat-screen TV, couches, a 2nd Fridge, a Laundry room, Ceramic tile floors, French doors leading directly to the beach, and an interior stairway leading to the middle floor. Also featuring a Play area with couches and flat-screen TV and 2 twin beds. Outside there is an outside shower with a dressing area.

Also features two-zone central air and gas heat as well as a laundry room with a washer and dryer.

High-Speed Internet with Wi-Fi plus keyless entry.

The house is ideally located just blocks from the Causeway and is an easy drive to Atlantic City with its famous boardwalk and numerous casinos as well as Fantasy Island in Beach Haven with its many family and kid-friendly activities. The house is one hour from Philadelphia and one and a half hours commute from New York City.

Our house rents weekly in Season from June till September. It is also available weekly and for extended weekend getaway vacations off Season from October until May. The house is ideal for small or large families plus guests or for two couples to share. It sleeps 13-16 comfortably.

Payment Details:

50% deposit due with lease signing

50% due 30 days before check-in

$1000 refundable security damage deposit

Group Rates are extra $3000-6000.

Security for groups is $200 per person

Pets are accepted with a $250 Pet Fee

Check-in time is 3 PM. Check-out time is 10 AM.

Cancellation Policy: The tenant shall be responsible for the entire lease. If the tenant wishes to cancel for any reason, the tenant must do so in writing to the owner. The lease shall be terminated only after another tenant is secured or permission from the owner is given.

Perfect family gathering!

We had generations of our family stay the week. It was such a perfect house for us. The grandparents stayed on the top floor. The families with young ones stayed on the middle floor, and the older kids enjoyed the basement.
It was so perfect walking out the door and right onto the beach. We enjoyed dinners on the deck. It was just such a perfect stay. We would definitely rent this house again.

A Week AT The Beach

We hoped to have a family gathering at the beach and after looking at numerous listings we saw the house at 1611 Ocean Avenue in Ship Bottom. We felt it was just what we were looking for. Upon arrival we found that it far exceeded our expectations. As nice as the photos are, they do not do it justice. The rooms are large and comfortable, a fully stocked kitchen and a BBQ on a deck overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. One really could not wish for more! When they say “steps to the beach”, they are not kidding. If you want to go to sleep and wake up with the sound of the waves meeting the shore, this is the house. What a blessing to see the sunrise from the deck and the sunset from the upper deck every day! It was a dream come true Chris was a pleasure to work with. Thank you for sharing your home!

My family and I stayed for Memorial Day weekend. It is a beautiful home on the beach. We were pleased to find it was very clean on arrival and the landlord was always very responsive. It was decorated nicely and had a lot of room for everyone at a great price.

Lots of Space and Great Views

Our family spent a wonderful week here. Plenty of living and sleeping space for mom, dad, three adult children and visitors. The kitchen is stocked with everything you need – even some great serving bowls and storage containers. The ocean view from the main living space is fantastic due to the wall of windows. The large dining table was our go-to spot for meals, games, work and conversation. We loved the main floor deck. It was a great outdoor space during the cool spring weather, letting us enjoy the warmth of the sun as the house blocked the breeze coming off the bay. Great location on a quiet street with plenty of off-street parking.

We rented this beautiful house on the beach to celebrate our 55th Wedding Anniversary with our immediate family: 7 adults and 7 children and three dogs. The children did not stop smiling. They were in the ocean every day right near the lifeguards. We ate dinner every night on the balcony overlooking the ocean. There was always a slight breeze and it was absolutely delightful. We sat out there for hours talking and enjoying the sound and sight of the ocean. I would say that that was our favorite spot in the house. We hardly watched TV, but we did put together a 1,000 piece puzzle. Dinners were easy to prepare in the well-stocked kitchen. We also ordered dinners from restaurants nearby. The house is not fancy and we would have preferred that it came with sheets and towels. The lifeguard is a short walk away, but I had trouble getting there as I am in my 70s and it was difficult for me to walk on the sand. My husband and I had our bedroom on the second floor right off the living room and kitchen, so we had no trouble getting around while in the house. I forgot to mention the roof-top porch. The children loved it! Right before sunset, they would climb up the stairs and watch the beautiful sunsets. In the morning, we could see the sunrise over the ocean. This house was nature at its best!

Location! Location! Location! What a view!

We rated this house 5 STARS but if there were 10 STARS that would have been our rating! We visited the house to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. Four families with with 13 people and we had plenty of room. Decks off all major bedrooms and off living and dining area with a view of the ocean that was not to be believed. I especially appreciated the fantastic ocean view I experienced while cooking in the kitchen! There is no way that we can describe this house adequately. Even the kids had their own floor complete with leather couches & X-box. Our thanks to Chris, the owner. You should be very proud of your house. It’s one in a million.

Great House for Family Vacation

This was the third year that we have stayed at this house. It is great for our family gathering. We have ten people in four families across three generations. It really has worked well for us. The location is great because of the views, the proximity to the beach and beach access and proximity to restaurants, shopping and amusements. The layout of the house works very nicely for us. Enough space to allow privacy as well as enough common space for us all to be together for meals and family time. The young kids really like the basement family room as well as the roof-top deck. They view it as their private space. The owner of the house is a pleasure to deal with. He is very accommodating and tries hard to meet your needs. The most recent renovations which included a new refrigerator, new sofas, tables, chairs, bar stools as well as flat screen TVs in all bedrooms was appreciated by all of us.

Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.

The BEST house and vacation!!

We stayed at this house for a week for a family gathering. There were 16 of us (5 families) and we had plenty of room. The views are spectacular and floor plan works great. We could all hang out in the living room/dining room/kitchen and be together while doing different things. The kids loved the playroom which was HUGE. Each adult couple had a balcony off their room which was a plus and one room is perfect for kids. The downstairs also had a pull out couch as well as 2 other couches so the kids had their own “kidcave”. They appreciated having their own space. It was also great to come back from the beach and enter downstairs so the sand in the house was minimal. Overall the whole house was very homey and we felt comfortable from the moment we got there. When we mentioned to the owner how many people we were he made sure we had enough of everything including wine glasses and silverware. He was very accomodating with our reservation and we got the full security deposit back very quickly. As for the location, it could not be better. The house is on the beach and one house off the beach access. It is a few houses from the main road. Within 3 blocks was pizza, bagels, miniature golf, a nightclub, a bar (with great food we brought to the beach for lunch) a candy store and a little market. We hardly got in our car all week. I would absolutely recommend this house, just don;t take it when we want it again!! ENJOY!!

One of the best kept secrets in LBI……

Maybe I should not write this, but this house is one of the best kept secrets in LBI. My family/friends (group of 16 (8 adults, 8 kids) ranging from ages 7-14) simply LOVE THIS HOUSE! This was our 2nd stay and the upgrades made (new furniture/new finished basement) were outstanding. You cannot beat the beach views and large spacious decks that are even off the bedrooms. Rooms are spacious and the living areas are very comfortable. Ocean views all around from kitchen and living room. Access to beach is fantastic and close, and from the decks you can see your family and friends on beach. Going back and forth to house (which we ALL do) is a true pleasure to be able to do. The kids loved to bike to the nearby stores,…close enough to do so. I will be back again in 2012, and telling my friends who rent other homes to switch to this one.
